My Thoughts:
- Anne Boleyn did what? -an incomplete essay, currently mainly a shabby history of England
Artefacts
The Bayeux Tapestry
This 70 metre long work of embroidery is thought to have been made in Anglo-Saxon England during the reign of William I. Although yes, political propoganda to help justify his violent ascension, it is an incredible piece of narrative art, insanely cool craftsmansship and character design. The middle section flows through scenes divided by surreal trees and bordered by strange creatures that occasionally interject and all throughout are smatterings of comedy that hits even 1000 years later. I implore you to please peruse it here and look at all their goofy little heads and silly bodies. It is rich with fantastical middle ages creatures, banquet scenes, depictions of boats and castles, DELICIOUS, SPLENDID, A TREASURE. One comment on this great tour of the plot claims a direct line between the tapestry and Monty Python and I do concur.
